- The town gathered to draw from the lottery. Mr.Summers calls out the rules to the townspeople, most don't listen because they've been doing this all their lives.
- Climax
- Mr. Summers called families up in alphabetical order,they draw a paper and wait until everyone has gotten a piece of paper.
- Falling Action
- Draw again!
- The townspeople all looked around to see who got the paper with the black dot. Everyone asked to see who got the dot but most people were quiet.
- Resolution
- Tessie Hutchinson chose the paper with the black dot, lets go people!
- The Hutchinson family drew the paper with the black dot on it,They were scared that they were the family that had to draw again.
- The Hutchinson's got it!!!
- The Hutchinson family drew another paper from the box, Tessie was scared and pleaded because she knew this wasn't right.
- Tessie got the paper with the black dot, the townspeople gathered around her and stoned her.
