Hi! Lizzy , How are you today?I am good thanks for asking.
Yes, I would like to know!
We have been studying the Codes of Ethics of a radiology tech, this is a written code that states the principals and the merits of individuals who form part of a designated group.
I am well, how are you? Glad to hear, you know I was in my weekend class of Fundamental Science of Radiology do you want to know what we learned?
In others words , their are rules, norms you have to follow in that medical profession?
Exactly! This code of ethics forms a compound of 10 principals, being the first one that states that each Radiology Technician is responsable for the pacients necessity and well being.
This sounds like a lot of responsability. How are you going to do when you come to a point you do not like the pacient?
The Code of Ethics also speaks about this actually is the 4th rule , it states we cannot show aby prejudice against any patient,
And in rule number 9 it states we need to treat all individuals with respect and dignity, providing care regardless of race, nationality or ethnic origin, color, gender, sexual orientation, religious or political affiliation, age, type of illness, mental or physical ability.
Oh ok, that is good information to know. I had no idea the medical profession had its codes of ethics and how each law protects the patient as well as the radiology tech.
And one important factor is that education continues after you finish your degree, it is your responsability to continue to learn more and be up to date with everything relating to the radiology profession. So you can be better equipped to treat your patient and also be a outstading professional.
I am so glad you are learning all this things and I know you will be a great Radiology Technician. I cant wait for you to get your degree. I will be visiting you, I will tell my brother Eliseo as well.
