Well! Francis Pegahmagabow was an Aboriginal soldier that later became known as one of the most famous indigenous soldiers to ever touch Canadian grounds. He received the Military Medal with two bars which was given to only 39 soldiers in the whole Canadian Expedition Force. These bars were given to soldiers who peformed extraordinary heroic acts and came back to tell the tale.

After the war, Francis decided to follow in the steps of his father and grandfather, he became chief and councilor of The Parry Island Band, also known as the Wasauksing First Nation . He was later admitted into Canada's Indian Hall of Fame exemplifies indigenous people's for their hard work put into their job. He was truly a great man that changed the face of Canada
