  • The poem "Alone" have 1 stanza and 22 lines, the rhyme scheme is AABBCCDDEEFFGGHHIIJJKK.The verses are narrated by a person whose genre we don't know exactly. But clearly it's an adult remembering things from the past, you can tell this at the beginning when you say "From childhood's hour I have not been / The others were."

  • The poem presents elements of nature, which can fit into sight, sound and smell. The poem image is created by the expressions/words: stormy (smell, sound), red cliff of the mountain (sight), autumn tint of gold (sight), the lightning in the sky (sight), thunder (sound), and cloud that took the form of a demon in my view (sight).

  • The words: hour/have, same/source, round/roll'd are alliteration. Repetition are presents in "From de torrent..." "From the red cliff..." "From the sun..."Metaphor is presents in lines 9 and 10 when the speaker says "in the dawn / Of a most stormy life". The "dawn" represents the beginning of the day that can be the beginning of life, implying that the speaker has been "living tormented" since his childhood, his beginning.The personification appears at the end of the poem, when he refers the cloud to a demon.
