- The Youngers which is a black family's living in south side Chicago in the 1950's. The family receives $10,000 as an insurance cheek due to a family death.They each have different wants with the money.
- Climax
- Mama has always wanted a house with her husband who had passed away and decided to buy a house which sent Walter into spiral and wave of emotions he wanted a liquor store and wasn't able to achieve that.
- Falling Action
- With the Left over money Mama decides to give it to Walter and let him become the man by handling the money of the house.
- Resolution
- After Walter invest all of the money into a friend Bobo comes him the tell him the new that Walter has run off with all the money, this news now sends Walter deeper down becoming low.
- Walter takes responsibility and becomes a man by declining Linder's offer and saying his family are proud people and will try their best not to create any problems.
- The Youngers prepare and start going to the moving to truck to move into the new house.
