Welcome students!Lets all take a closer look at the forest
Lots of things we cant see live in the forest, many of them we cant see without a microscope.Just because we cant see them doesn't mean they aren't important and integral to sustaining the forest.
FUN FACT!!A single handful of soil can contain in excess of 500 species of fungi, potentially more than 50km of mycelium, 10,000 different species and a whopping 100 Billion individual specimens of bacteria IN A SINGLE HANDFUL!!!!
ladybug here,I help by controlling the ever hungry insect herbivores which helps to manage the natural ecosystem
we are ants we help turn and aerate the soil which in turn helps water and oxygen reach the roots of trees
I'm a beaver i build dams that reduces waterflow and helps complex wetland habitats to form
Im a squirrel and I help by spreading spores of fungi which are very important to trees survival
I am a spider, please don't be scared of me! I am so important that some people believe there would be a famine if I went extinct!
we are birds we help bring plants back into the eco system by dispersing them through our POO!
We are rabbits and we eat invasive weeds which allow other plants, insects and birds to thrive
Lets see what we can see and how they help!
That was just a quick look out how amazing and intricately balanced our wonderful world is.
