At Titration High, things were a little different than regular school. Acids hung out with acids, and bases with bases. The two never seemed to mix. One day, a new base arrives at school. His name is Ammonia. Little does Ammonia know that this new school was filled with mean, strong acids, like Hydrochloric Acid here on the left.
ACIDS
BASES
Ammonia was not happy at his new school. In fact, he felt like he could never fit in. His first few months were like this.
"Get a load of this guy, he's so basic!" laughed Hydrochloric Acid and his friend, Perchloric Acid.
One day, during chemistry class, Ammonia hears his teacher is partnering acids and bases. He doesn't want to see those mean acids!
Hi, I'm Hydrobromic Acid. It's nice to meet you!
But the acid Ammonia met was not like the other two. It was like she was made for him.
The two were like two peas in a pod. Ammonia no longer cared about the other strong, mean acids anymore.
THE END
I finally found a friend here at Titration High! I guess you can say I met my equilibrium constant ;)
