TheSecondContinentalCongress

50 delegates from 12 colonies met in September of 1774 to discuss their issues and to send a respectful letter to the king of their requests. Until they got a response, they would boycott British goods.

On April 19, 1775, 700 soldiers marched into Lexington to suspend a supposed arsenal of weapons. The colonists were unprepared and despite surrendering, a rogue shot killed 8 people.

The next day, on April 20th, the British found no weapons but they were attacked by minutemen on the North Bridge where they would win.

The delegates met again on May 10, 1775 to discuss making a force to retaliate against the British. They also chose a leader, George Washington.

We are to send a letter to the king and hopefully we can agree. Until then we will Boycott British goods.

These requests seem a bit unreasonable...

We have to get rid of their secret arsenal!

Where did those shots come from!? We said we'd surrender! This is completely unreasonable!

There are no weapons here! We're trapped!

A retaliation for last night!

We gather here again to discuss our plans for an army and a leader to defend against the British.

Could we not just comply to the wishes of our parliament?
