Main idea #1

Temperature change will have an effect on Aircraft performance

  • The temperature is something that directly effects how an aircraft performs, the warmer/colder the temperature is the more/less the aircrafts engines will need to perform to generate the same lift

Main idea #2

Weather effects on flights

  • Weather is one of the main factors that go in to making the decision to fly. Its obvious that you cant fly a plane through very bad weather, and with an increase in climate change, comes an increase of inclement weather that will directly effect a flight. This will lead to delays and damage to Airports/ Airplanes

Thesis:

Climate change is something that the industry must learn to adapt to due to the importance of the role it will play in the coming years. The main expected impacts and challenges of climate change on aviation result from changes in temperature, precipitation, storm patterns, sea level changes and wind patterns.

Main idea #3

  • A change in sea level could increase airport capacity and cause a need for relocation of certain airports
  • The rising of the sea level could require the planning of new airports because of airports being under water

Conclusion:

While climate change is not something that has yet to have an everlasting or detrimental impact upon the aviation industry in today's society, climate change is something that the industry must learn to adapt to due to the importance of the role it will play in the coming years.
