- Even though the third crusade had a powerful military back the second crusade failed because of many reasons but one of them is that the leaders fought, the crusade

- The Fatimid Arabs started to destroy churches and started to kill pilgrims. then in 1071 Seljuk Turks harassed the pilgrims. they also marched on the christian city of Constantinople.
