- What about Budgetary power? Doesnt congress have a bit too much power because of the purse?
- This can make the people want something else devoted to the budget but this also leaves a lot of room for political Shenanigans
- Bully Pulpit is basically just the ability to use the platform of being the president to get a messgae out to the public
- Its not wrong to assume that but the President has the Informal power of Bully Pulpit.
- So do some Congress people and Senators. They could use their platform to challenge the president and what he wants.
- What do I mean by Political Shenanigans? Basically it means that while yes the president has the power of Bully Pulpit...
- Could this happen? Yeah but it would be a little difficult to pull off, what the people in Congress would need is numbers which is why I think that the Legislative branch holds Supreme
- What about the ability for the president to negotiate treaties but only Congress can ratify them?
- This is just another example of the seperation of powers, if the president was left all alone with negotiating and ratiftying then he could do whatever
- Its good that another branch can look at the negotiated treaty and say if its good or not.
