- My dear, how I have missed you
- Eli was able to visit her Grandma in Puerto Rico, having not seen her ever, she was excited to be able to get to know her. Eli's Grandma only spoke Spanish.
- I am not quite sure of what my Grandma just said?
- When I can come back, I am going to be able to talk to you in spanish Grandma!
- That summer, Eli went back home to learn Spanish. Eli was discouraged that she was unable to communicate with her Grandma while she was there
- I am having trouble finding classes for spanish, I wish my parents taught me spanish when I was younger.
- Eli, while learning, got caught up in her work and friends. She continued learning however had to focus on her school and her friends at the time, delaying the process. Years passed until she finally was able to visit again
- By the time Eli finally visited, her Grandma had passed two weeks prior. Eli was devestaed by the news of her familys loss. Difficult to understand in that moment but family should never be a second thought when it comes to visiting loved ones because it can turn out to be too late
