- CARTOON ABSTRACT
- Welcome to my neighbourhood! I will take you through a quick tour of it.
- A neighbourhood is the immediate surrounding/vicinity in which we live in. People who live nearby are called neighbours.
- A Neighbourhood may also be defined as a social organization, which is essentially smaller than a city but larger than a household.
- One Function of neighbourhood is the economic function it consists of two units production consumption. The production function involves factories,markets,shopping centres, etc.
- The Administrative function comprises of public services, bureaucrats, governmental agencies and also the people who work for the welfare of the State ensuring order,efficiency , equality and control.
- Whereas, the consumption unit is majorly homes houses , including the local neighbourhood.
- The Societability Function, as the name suggests,essentially means being sociable or amiable.It involves social interaction,commitments,friendliness and involvement with the people of the community and the neighbourhood itself.It is an essential definitional characteristic of a neighbourhood.
- The Political Unit comprises of local groups/communities.They respond to different policies or programmes introduced by government.
