  • The use of the Old Testament in 15th and 16th century Europe established hegemonic beliefs of the British Empire, influenced by the Old Testament . The ideals put the Empire on it's own pedestal, resulting the belief of superiority over other races . This marked the beginning of the evolution of Racial Ideology to hegemonic beliefs in the empire.

  • So, with these ideals in mind, and the need for supplies Colonialism, fed by capital gain was formed. The British Empire took these ideals and set off to Colonize places all around the earth to trade and shortly after, Colonize in the name of Capitalism, Market, and general Conquer.

  • In the 19th Century, the British Empire set up trade in Peninsular Malaysia for capitalistic gain, working with the Malaysian governing powers to establish market opportunities in three places and called them the Strait Settlements.

  • However, due to the fast industrialization process in Europe, the increasing needs for more raw material shifted mere trade, into Imperial governance over Malaysian Sultans by the British. The integration of Chinese and Indonesian labour became of use in these time and caused conflict between the groups, resistance from Malayans, and finally kinship ties between groups as well
