  • The University of Oregon's mascot is the Ducks. The mascot is based on Disney's Donald Duck through a special license agreement.

  • Portland, Oregon is known as the "City of Roses." It got the name when a large variety of pink roses were introduced to the city in 1888. The Portland Rose Festival, which began in 1907, is an annual event.
  • Oregon has the most ghost towns in the United States. A ghost town doesn't actually have ghosts, it's an abandoned town with very few or no remaining inhabitants.
