The Boston Massacre was a riot that happened on March 5, 1770. British soldiers took over a city and tried to tax the colonists with things like the stamp act. The colonists did not agree with this so they walked around the city shouting "no taxation without representation."

The colonists were upset that they were being taxed. they felt like they had no say in what they were being taxed for. the colonists decided to respond by rioting and throwing all of the tea off of the ships and into the water.

British soldiers were attacked by a mob so they shot people to make them go away. There were 6 solders that were set free from their charges but the other two soldiers that were charged with manslaughter.
The Boston tea party ended on December 16, 1773. After the Boston Tea party was over the intolerable acts were made to punish the colonists.
