Storyboard Description

The Four Rs of Conflict Management: What are the steps you can take to resolve conflict?

Storyboard Text

  • RECOGNIZE
  • Tina, why have you been acting weird with me lately?
  • It's because you got the lead role. I should have! I'm a better singer than you.
  • RESPOND WITH RESPECT
  • Whatever. I don't care, I'm going to quit anyway.
  • You are a better singer. Maybe they wanted something else too?
  • RESOLVE
  • Maybe you're right. I'm just disappointed. I'll take all the help I can get.
  • I don't think you should quit. You're really good. I know the lead is gone, but there's a lot of other parts. I could help you go over the lines.
  • Okay! Stay after school tomorrow with me.
  • REFLECT
  • See you tomorrow!
  • I'll be there.
  • Maybe I'll help her get the next lead...
  • Gina recognized some signs of potential conflict. She decides to ask Tina about her recent behaviors.
  • Gina decides to complement Tina to try to make her feel better because acting is very important to her.
  • Gina listened to understand and saw that Tina was more upset about not getting the part then mad at her.
  • Gina decides to help Tina even more, because she recognizes that acting is important to both of them.
