- This is our poverty now.
- France offered the land for money. The Louisiana Purchase doubled the United States and now the Rocky Mountains are where the US borders were expanded.
- Alamo
- I am so furious. Why is there so much settlers coming here?!
- Lewis and Clark were sent to explore the west by Thomas Jefferson. Captain William Clark was suggested to be the co-leader by Captain Lewis. They explored and studied about the people, animals, plants, and geography.
- Oregon Trail
- The Indian Removal was signed by President Andrew Jackson. Native American, had to stay in reservations according to the law.
- Gold Rush
- I can't find any gold.
- The settlers and the Mexican government became angry at each other when more settlers were coming to Texas. The Texans did not give up even if they were defeated.
- The journey to the west made a big difference to the American Dream. Cholera was the hardest part for the emigrants because it killed so much people.
- I feel so sick.
- At first many people were talking about gold, some other people did not believe in those gold stories. It was hard for the people on the trip because it took3-6 months for the whole trip.
