- What is the fatty acid ß_oxidation?
- It is break down of fatty acid to produce energy.It occurs when person at fasting state.
- I know that Fatty acid is stored in adipose tissue as TAG,but do you know how does mobilization of stored fat occure?
- Enzyme called hormone-sensitive lipase "HSL" breaks down TAG into free fatty acid and glycerol.
- Short or medium-chain fatty acid (C<12)can enter into inner mitochondia to be oxidised and give energy but long chain fatty acid (C>12)can't enter.

- First, activation of free fatty acid by interaction with Coenzyme A in cytosol.
