  • Queen Elizabeth II has been the Head of State since February 6, 1952. Also known as the Monarch or Sovereign, her role is to represent the country, and to symbolize the unity of Canada. Publicly, she is represented by the Governor General.
  • The House of Commons met today to discuss the new laws. The House consists of over 360 members, and it is their job to make the laws.
  • The Prime Minister/Head of Government is Justin Trudeau. He has served as the 23rd Prime Minister of Canada since 2015. He is the head of government. Did you know that he used to be a teacher in Vancouver?
