Dear Bob,I am so excited to be writing to you from New York City! Today we visited the Statue of Liberty. I learned that the statue was a gift from France and was dedicated to the U.S. on October 28, 1886. You know the big torch? Well, I learned that it stands for the enlightenment of the world. I also learned that the tablet in her left hand represents the law and it has July 4, 1776 written on it; that's America's birthday! It's really big, and it weighs 225 tons. WOW! Well I hope that you are having a nice vacation too, and I will see you when I get back!Your pal,Mike
