While physical health is important, there are four other vital aspects to consider: social, spiritual, intellectual, and emotional. These all fall under the umbrella term of "wellness". Having low levels of wellness can impact students. Have them identify how they can boost the areas that they're not doing well in.

  • Physical
  • I play too many video games. Maybe I'll join a sport, which will also allow me to spend more time with friends.
  • I'm happy most of the time, but when I'm sad I don't tell anyone. I want to talk to my friends more. 
  • Emotional
  • I have a lot of friends, but I am so busy with school. I'll play video games less so I can have more time with friends.
  • Social
  • EMOTIONAL
  • I'm keeping everything bottled up. I'm so stressed out.
  • SOCIAL
  • Oh okay... We'll be at House of Pizza if you want to meet us.
  • Lea, a bunch of us are going to grab a bite to eat. Are you hungry?
  • Can't I want to level up online later.
  • PHYSICAL
  • The CDC recommends at least 30 mins of physical activity everyday. Lea, you need to be more active in order to avoid health risks.
  • Reflection on personal levels of wellness.
  • Keeping thoughts and emotions bottled up leads to an unhealthy relationship with processing emotions. This can lead to lashing out and damaging relationships.
  • Ignoring or avoiding friends and social situations may lead to isolation. This may not build strong relations.
  • Avoiding physical activity may lead to obesity and other health problems in the future.
