Storyboard Text

  • Before the civil war, women always had the job of cleaning and being a housewife. The men were the ones that were hunting and going to work and paying the bills, while the women made sure that the house was cleaned and the chores were done and women also made sure to feed their family. During this time women were not needed for anything else they were just needed in the "kitchen".
  • After the civil war, when their husbands came back they had to go back to being a housewife even though while their husbands were gone, they managed to keep the city going by working in the store and learning new things. So when they had to go back to cleaning they didn't like that at all, The women wanted change. The change that they wanted was having the ability to vote and to go to college.
  • Women from all over the world were tired of not having their rights to do something that they wanted to do, so they fought really hard to change others minds, though it was hard to succeed. They created many movements and groups like NAWSA, this group of women helped moved women's suffrage state and national wide.
  • Yay!!
  • In 1848, Many women and including Men marched toward seneca Falls, New York to discuss their rights. All of those women and men totaled up to 300, all 300 of those women and men wanted a change with voting and their education. The NAWSA and those 300 made a change and women got their rights.
  • In 1920's the 19th amendment was created stating that " The right of citizens of the united states to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the united states or by any state on the account of sex". As for educational purposes for the women 26 states allowed women to go to college.
  • These women helped shaped the world today, by showing everyone that women are able to do anything that they want and showing that all women can set though mind to something, like having the rights to vote and Women being allowed to go to college.
