- Old major died peacfully in his sleep. This was early march.The three pigs held secret meetings they elaborated a systeme of thought, animalism.
- They expounded the animalism to the others. Some of the animals talked of the duity of loyality to mister jones. The pigs had great difficulties to convince them.
- "Those ribbons that you're so devoted to are the badge of slavery. Can you not understand that liberty is worth?"
- "mister Jones feeds us. If he were gone, we should starve to death".
- Mister jones had become much disheartened after losing money in a lawsuit, and had taken to drinking more than was good for him .
- jones and his men suddenly found themselves being butted and kicked from all sides. The situation was quite out of their control. The animals pursuing them in triumph.
- "The past three months we had taught us to read and write."
- They sang " beast of England" from end to end. And they settled.
- Then, they painted out manor farm and in it's place painted " Animal Fram"The commandments were written on the wall in great white letters.
