  • A petition is a document that we send to the government that tells them how we feel on certain topics and is a right guaranteed under the 1st amendment
  • What is a petition?
  • 2nd Amendment
  • Actually, the 2nd amendment allows people to bear firearms
  • You shouldn't have that gun! It's illegal!
  • I do not have one. I will leave and eventually get one from a judge
  • 4th Amendment
  • I have come to search your house.
  • Do you have a warrant to search my house as mandated by the 4th amendment so people are not unreasonably searched
  • This keeps the government in touch with how people want to be governed and allows for a better more accurate reflection of the country's interests.

  • This right allows protection from the United States government, foreign governments, and other people.

  • Why do you have to work so late mom?
  • This right allows people to not be under constant government surveillance and to limit the federal government's power over the people.

  • This right makes sure that the best case possible is presented in court, making convictions more accurate. When incorrect, it allows the guilty to stay free.

  • Ok, this court is adjourned as double jeopardy is not allowed under the 5th amendment

  • This right allows the innocent to not be unfairly held in jail awaiting their trial.
