Aylmer A brilliant yet misguided scientist , is the main character of this story. He’s a famous scientist whose work are well known in the scientific community.
The brilliant scientist met a beautiful girl named Georgiana. A beautiful, intelligent, and caring woman.
It wasn’t long until they got married. After they got married, Aylmer asks his wife if she has ever considered trying to remove the birthmark on her cheek. Georgiana replies that she has not, and admits that she always thought it a “charm” of her appearance.
However, Aylmer tells her that he can’t stand the birthmark because it’s the only imperfect aspect of an otherwise perfect being. Being driven crazy by the birthmark, Aylmer started to look for a way to remove the birthmark.
As the living wife that Georgiana is, she agreed to the removal of the birthmark. She drinks a liquid prepared by Aylmer and slowly falls asleep.
But what Aylmer didn’t know was that the birthmark was the only thing keeping Georgiana’s divine spirit connected to a human body, and as the birthmark disappears entirely, her soul goes up to heaven.
