  • I should have called them up one group at a time.
  • Task: Students were to view the world map after reading clues I gave each group. They were trying to find the country of origin for their folktales and fables.
  • Mrs. Arnold we can't see!
  • Ben is in the way!
  • It's my turn!
  • BINGO!
  • Students: Each student was excited and talking about the definitions during Vocab Bingo. One student just could not stay sitting, but he participated fully!
  • I just needed ONE MORE!

  • Text: Students were engaged in the reading, however, many of the boys tried to be funny and critique the illustrations. A few of my "active" students were squirmy during the reading.
  • The moral is what the story is trying to teach you...

  • I wonder when lunch is?
  • Teacher: This is me toward the end of the lesson, during student practice.I was giving instructions for the graphic organizer. The students recalled events with their graphic organizers.
  • ...what if I can't remember all of the story?
  • I think it's Greece!
  • No, it has to be Italy.
  • Context: Students worked happily around the room to solve their clues and pinpoint the correct country. I had a lot of positive feedback and 4 of 5 groups guessed correctly!
