Britain captured Alexandria, Virginia. And Baltimore, Maryland. The British failed to take Fort McHenry and General Ross was killed. This is when Britain withdrew.
Everyone was tired of war so they decided to stop fighting.
They agreed to return any gained land to the original owner.
This is when the border was created.
If the Americans had won the War of 1812, we would most likely be Americans right now.
The Americans would have taken a lot of the land away from Canada

If the Americans had won the war there wouldn't be any Irish or Scottish people in North America!
Yeah! If you have Scottish, British, or Irish ancestors you might not live in North America today!
If the War of 1812 hadn't happened the border might not have been created yet.
The border may have been created later and in a different spot. Canada might have more or less land then it does now.

The War of 1812 was a hard time for the citizens living in the villages at the time. In some ways it was good and in some ways it was terrible. All in all the war had its place in history.
