  • Heyyyy!!!!!!!!!! Do you have any idea about how elections are held??? I just turned 18 a few days ago and am confused on how to cast vote.
  • Firstly, our country is divided into constituencies on the basis of population. Also there are reserved constituencies.
  • I know the fact that all citizens above 18 years of age have the right to vote. In order to be a candidate you must be 25 years old.
  • Also political parties nominate their candidate who gets the party symbol and support. They have to fill a nomination form and give some money as security deposit
  • Election campaigns take place for a two-week period between the announcement of the final list of candidates and the date of polling.
  • The final stage of an election is the day when the voters cast or ‘poll’ their vote. That day is usually called the election day. Once the voter goes inside the booth, the election officials identify her, put a mark on her finger and allow her to cast her vote.
  • Ooooohhhhh okayyyy!!!!!!!!!Now I have a clearer idea on who to vote tomorrow. Thanks for helping me understand.
