- Jack caused an Earthquake that caused Bebba's Town and others to lose their water. The Lady of the Lake came from the fountain and took Lucy which caused Jack, Pega, and Brutus (a slave) to go on a journey to restore the water and find Lucy.

- In this part of the story, Jack and Thorgil wake up to their weapons gone. They suspect the hobgoblins of stealing them and they got offended because they would "never steal" but it turned out that they actually did take the weapons.
