The Tariff of Abominations was a tax on any foreign imported goods imposed by Jackson to protect the industry in the Northen states, but the Southern states called it unconstitutional because it made living there more expensive

The Trail of Tears was set off by the Indian Removal Act in 1838. The Indians living in the East were forced to move West on a long 1,200 miles over rugged land. About 16,000 Indians embarked and 4,000 died.
