The tea act of 1773 allowed for tea to be shipped in East India Company ships directly from China to the American colonies. This allowed for the British to undercut the price that were smuggled into the colonies. This angered the colonists because the act gave the East India Company a control on the tea sales in the colonies.

The intolerable acts were Implemented by the British to punish the colony of Massachusetts Bay for the Boston Tea Party, it was a series of four laws. One of the intolerable acts had the port of Boston closed nearly completely so that colonists couldn't bring hay from Charlestown to feed their starving horses. Another intolerable act included compelling colonists to feed and shelter the soldiers employed to punish them.

The Quartering Act of 1765 was implemented by the British to collect the new taxes the British needed for a strong military presence to enforce the new measures. The Quartering Act was created to supply the British Troops with food and shelter, at the expense of the American colonies. This angered colonists because they were being taxed to both feed and to have camp for the army.
