Storyboard Text

  • The Indus valley civilization was located in current day Pakistan. It lasted for 800 years between 2700 B.C.E to 1900 B.C.E. The civilization is located by the Indus River.
  • Our homes are in the lower city. They are made out of mud bricks and have large flat roofs to cool of on hot summer nights and have a good workspace.
  • We have complex sewer system made up of drains, pipes, and wells throughout the city. We also all could have a bathroom even the poor could. Rich and poor have plumbing.
  • The Great Bath is a huge bath that is used for rituals or bathing. It is 8 feet deep and 39 feet long. It had pipes running through it to fill it with water.
  • Seals ( not the animal ) are like little clay tables that are worn around the neck to keep dark spirits away or tied to packages to show what is in the package or show where the package is from.
  • The Indus valley civilization does not have a currency of money so instead they traded goods for other goods. We also have put seals on packages to show where the packages were from. We trade with Iran and Afghanistan
