  • After hearing the disturbing explaintaions of Lady Macbeth, Macbeth tells Lady Macbeth she'll only bear childern because she's so manly, incatidtaing that men are ruthless and cruel. Macbeth uses a metaphor to express this. Adding onto the Gender Theory
  • Act IV Scene iii Line 220-221
  • I shall do so; [b]ut I must also feel it as a man.
  • Macduff feels that it is not needed to tell Lady Macbeth the death of King Ducan because she's a woman, nor should any woman should because it could 'kill' them, adding onto Gender Theory that woman shouldn't hear bad news since they're sensitive. This is irony since Lady Macbeth already knows about the death of the King.
  • Act V Scene viii Line 15-16
  • ...[I] was from [my] mother's womb [u]ntimely ripped.
  • After Macbeth's outburst of seeing a ghost that nobody else can see, Lady Macbeth questions him if he is even a man because of the way Macbeth is acting, implying that being afraid and scared is not very manly showing Gender Theory. Rhetorical question, Lady Macbeth does not expect an answer.

  • After hearing about the death of his family, Macduff goes into an outburst which Malcolm tells him to take it as a man but Macduff replies with this quote, meaning that he is still manly for crying over the death of his family. Showiing Gender Theory. Simile is used
  • After Macbeth tells Macduff that no man born from a woman can defeat him, Macduff tells him he was ripped from the womb and not, meaning that a woman getting a c-section is not considered giving birth, adding to Gender Theory. Irony
