- The estates general took place in Versailles on May 5, 1789. King Louis XVI was confronted by the commoners about the tax burden. The commoners were unsuccessful in reaching an agreement. This was the beginning of the French Revolution. This event also leads to a rage by the commoners.

- The Tennis court oath took place on June 20, 1789. Jean Syllavine who led the tennis court oath. It was an act of defiance by the 3rd estate. They all made a promise to not split until there was a constitution. Deputies would realize that any attempt of reform would be outvoted.
- October 5, 1789, The women's march on Versailles

- The storming of Bastille took place on July 14, 1789. This event was what started the french revolution. They did this to get ammunition and arms. There were 30,000 pounds of gunpowder stored in the bastille. There were 7 prisoners that were kept in the bastille.
- June 20, 1791, The royal Flight to Varennes
- The declaration of the rights of man took place on August 26, 1789. The declaration said that all men should be equal in rights. The rights they are given are liberty, property, security, and resistance to oppression. No one was arrested without a judicial order. The writing of this declaration included major thinkers.

- The women's march on Versailles took place on October 5, 1789. This event consisted of several women marching over having a high price on bread. There was a scarcity of bread during this time. There was a crowd that grew to more than 7,000. It was one of the most significant events in the revolution. There were rumors about food being kept from the poor.
- The royal flight to Varennes took place on June 20, 1791. This was how the king and Marie Antoinette tried to escape the palace and go to Austria. The royal family had been in prison. When they escaped they dressed as servants as their disguise. They end up getting caught by the town official and the town wants them taken back to Pairis.
