I emerge from the cave into a new surrounding terrain, I carefully search my surroundings for anything that could lead to me going back to campsite. I search for everything, footsteps in the snow, markings on trees, familiar surroundings but running so fast, all of my surrounding went by in a flash.
It soon started to get dark, my brain assured me that someone will come to find me, but my body didn't seem to believe it. All I could do was sit it the cold snow and cry. I slowly start to remember all of the things I could have done better in life.
Suddenly, I remembered the words of my mother, "what ever you do in life, no matter how hard the situation, never give up". With the newly fond inspiration I set out to find the solution to my problem
I feel a slight heaviness as I walk in my coat pocket. I excitedly reached for my pocket to find a small snack bar, I didn't realize how hungry I was until I saw the food. I munched down on the little snack bar like an animal, I quickly checked my other pockets for any other useful devices. I had discovered that I had a compass in my other jacket pocket
I remembered the sun's position and were it was setting in regards to my position. It was setting right in front of my eyeline and opposite of were I came from. I tracked the west direction on my compass to find the pathway from which I had come.
After walking around for a very long time, I finally started coming around familiar surrounding, after finally passing the place we started the sprint from, I reached the campsite. I got the expression of delight from all of the camp group members, and as for the camp director, he was proud of me. For tackling the situation beautifully and finding my way back.
