John told Jesus that they had seen a man using Jeus' name to force demons out of someone, so they told the man to stop because he wasn't "one of them." Jesus then goes on to tell them to not stop the man, because whoever isn't against us is for us.

Mark 9:38-41

Jesus then warns them about sin and the causes and tells them how it's better to cut off your hand that sins rather than to burn in hell. He also uses salt as a symbol saying how salt is good, but if it loses its saltiness then you can make it good again. Along with the salt analogy, Jesus says that we should not lose the good quality of salt we have and to live in peace with each other.

Mark 9:42-50

Jesus and his followers went to Capernaum, and when they got there, Jesus heard his followers arguing earlier so he asks them what they were arguing for. No one answered Him because they were arguing over who was the greatest. Jesus then tells them that whoever wants to be the most important, has to make others more important than themselves.

Mark 9:33-37

Jesus, we saw a man using your name to cast out demons.

yea, he not one of us tho so we told him to stop.
