- The symbol of Beneathas hair firstly appears in Act one Scene two when her and Asagai are talking. It is significant in the play because Beneatha is always looking for change in her life. The emotions that surround it are shock, disappointment, and disbelief. The characters do not understand the meaning behind this symbol because they dont understand why Beneatha is always doing something new.
- The symbol of money is mentioned throughout the play. It is important to the story because its what their problem is, that they dont have enough money. The emotions that surround it are stress, happiness, and acceptance. The characters do understand the meaning of this symbol because they know they dont have much money, but deal with it.
