  • 3. Book an appointment and after all the practice tests this test should be a breeze! Take the test in an ICBC licensing office. Be sure to bring an accepted ID, your parent/ guardian and of course the fees. on a touch screen you will be answering multiple choice questions and 80% to pass and get your L. With 50 questions you'll only need 40 correct.
  • 2. Take a practice knowledge test for a better chance to pass the real one. Download the ICBC app and frequently retake the tests until you get only 100% consistently. With the newfound confidence from the 100%'s you get you will now be ready for the real knowledge test.
  • 1. Get a parent/ guardian to sign for consent if you're younger than 19. It is encouraged that the parent comes with the teen to their appointment at the drivers licensing office.

  • 6. You will take a "class 7 road test". The examiner will take you on a road to test your skills. This entire test will take about 45 minutes. While It isn't about complete perfection, you will however be judged on how you can drive in a safe smooth and controlled matter.
  • 4. There are many way to read up on or study for the class 7 test, but different ways such as reading "Tuning up for Drivers" and "Learn to Drive Smart," are great ways to get a start of your practice for the test. One could also take practice tests for all the road signs just for familiarity on the road.
  • 5. If you have had your L for a year prohibition-free you are then eligible for the class 7 road test.
  • 9. For your full licence you will need to take the class 5 road test. Demonstrating your excellent vehicle control as a safe driver. Before the test the examiner will check through your whole car to make sure everything is working. The entire test itself takes around 45 minutes.
  • 7. Once you have been driving with your "N" for 2 years at least, without prohibition, you may be eligible for getting your full licence.
  • 8. For a class 5 road test there will be a large variety of driving skills and hazard awareness you will be required to know. Including things like; merging on and off a highway, parallel parking, knowledge on icy, snowy or uneven roads, etc. You can use driving lessons or take more sign tests to help yourself study for everything on the class 5 road test.
