- The Executive Branch is up next on our list. This branch of government includes the president, vice president, the Cabinet, an most federal agencies.
- This is President Joe Biden. He leads the Executive Branch of our government.
- Here at the Executive Branch we carry out and enforce laws for our nation.
- The Judicial Branch is our third branch of government. The Judicial Branch is comprised of the Supreme Court and other federal courts.
- The judicial branch is responsible for interpreting the meaning of laws, applies them to cases, and decides if any laws violate the constitution.
- The Supreme Court is the highest court in the U.S. These 9 justices are nominated by the president and approved by the Senate.
- Three Court Systems:* Supreme Court handles civil rights and bill of rights issues* Federal courts handle cases that involve federal laws include tax & bankruptcy and lawsuits involving U.S. and state governments*Each state's court system handles their own state law cases.
- By having 3 branches of government that all work together, no single branch has more power than the other.
