- In the beginning of the story Samuel is on a ship to the new world as punishment for stealing his mothers locket. On the ship he will be a page for Captain John smith. Their are two other pages on the ship. Their names are Richard and James. But before they sail they have to wait for the right wind. Because they are still in England the fog makes every one get sick.
- OH NO!!
- After being in London for two months they sailed off to the new world in search of gold and wood for the Virginia company. On the route that they are taking to the new world, they stop at one of the Caribbean islands. The Indians trade food and fruits for copper, glass beads and knifes. They stay on the Caribbean island for month and a half. then set sail for Virginia again.
- I killed seven dear
- They had finally made it to Virginia. The made a camp with tents and a straw beds. Captain Smith thinks that they should make a palisade. But all the other gentleman disagree. So they don't make a palisade. Soon the Indians attack and seventeen men are wounded and only one is dead. The one who died was James. James was a page with Samuel.

- No not Captain Smith
- After Captain Smith returned from a search for the Northwest Passage some Indians came to give them food. When the Indians left a fire started in the camp. No one new how the fire started but it happened. It took them until the late afternoon to put the fire out. Soon some Indians came to give them food to eat because all their food had been burned from the fire.
- When Captain Newport returned he had brought women to Virginia. There were two ladies. Mrs.Forest was married to Mr.Forest. But Mrs.Forest's page is Ann Burras. Since Ann is fourteen and able to wed all the men want to marry her. They say thing like "I hunted seven dears." or walk around the fort in full armor and a sword But Mrs.Forest has not given Ann permission to wed. Soon a man named John Laydon gives Ann a very nice box. Finally Mrs.Forest gives Ann permission to wed. Soon John and Ann get married. They have a lovely wedding.
- Everyone says that it was an accident, that Captain Smith just went in a boat to take a nap. But while Captain Smith was still wearing his powder bag that someone are something caught fire on his powder bag and it exploded. It tore the skin right of Captain Smith's leg. Captain Smith jumped over board to cool his leg. But he was so weak that Captain Smith almost drowned before the men nearby could pull him out. When he comes to the camp everyone is sad. Captain Smith say "Richard, You will accompany me to England. We will leave with the next departing ship." Then he say this to Samuel,"You will stay because the colony needs you. I release you from you from your servitude." And just like that Samuel was no longer a servant. He was going to work as an apprentice for John Laydon so Samuel can learn to be a carpenter.
