Britain had the idea to start heavily taxing the 13 colonies in hopes to regain their wealth that they had lost.

1765: The stamp act was just passed which made colonies pay for a stamp which was put on letters, documents and even cards. This act went even worse for Britain as people began fighting back even more. People sent to collect the taxes were even tarred and feathered.

1765: After both acts had been passed the colonists were fed up.

Many patriots went together to form the Sons Of Liberty. Their role was to fight back against Britain's unfair taxing and trade restrictions. They were even willing to resort to violence.
