  • Going Solo, by Roald Dahl
  • When Roald Dahl was on a several day trip to East Africa to work for Shell, he looked out the window early one morning and saw a General and his wife running naked on the ship.
  • A lion got the cook's wife and was running across the land with her. They chased after them and the woman was totally fine. She faked dead so the lion did not hurt her.
  • "I can see!" I cried. "I can see something!"
  • "You can?" she said excitedly. "Are you sure?
  • "Where did he come from?"
  • Roald Dahl was so tall that he had to sit on his feet when he flew. There was no room for his long legs. When he landed, he needed help to get out of the plane and stretch his legs.
  • "I can't blieve I shot down a German bobmer!"
  • Roald crashed his plane on his first solo military assignment. He was lucky to get out of the plane. His flames were seen from afar and he was rescued and sent to the hospital with a broken nose, a concussion, and blindness.
  •
  • On his first mission after his accident, Roald Dahl shot down a German Bobmber. He was so relieved that the soldiers survived. He knew they survived because he saw them in their parachutes.
