- What happened out there?!. how did you guys survive?!.
- no time for that!. we have to save Alby he's in the vines tied up!.
- Thomas has met Minho; he is one of the maze runners, and he asked questions, but he only got a few answered, and he was told he found a dead griever, A day later, Minho and Alba went to go see the dead griever, but they didn't come back. As soon as they did, the walls were beginning to close, so he decided to get out to help them, but now he's trapped out there. Minho decided to tell Thomas to run split up when they saw a greievr, but Thomas helped Alby survive by putting him on the wall of vines. Thomas and Minho managed to kill the grievers by making them fall from a cliff at the end of the maze. When it returned daytime, they returned to the glade, which had never been done before.

- Some time later, Newt had called a gathering to talk about what Thomas did in the maze, He wanted to discuss if Thomas should be punished for breaking their number one rule of leaving the maze or praised for saving a life. Gally said he would kill Thomas because of his suspicion at the end of the meeting. Thomas has been sentenced to the slammer for a day tomorrow, but he can become a maze runner after that, Then he was getting voices in his head when he decided to check on the girl and stayed in the forest for the night.

- you didn't tell me what happened to Alby when you guys left. what happened?
- Thomas has spent his time in the slammer talking to Chuck, who visited him while bringing his lunch, after that alby was feeling better, and Thomas and him were talking about what alby remembered. The next day Thomas started his maze runner training; he learned about the map room and equipment, then he and Minho ran through the maze and wrote down what changed or not.
