  • I am fine Lily.
  • James and Lily just finished school. They are traveling home. Today their science Teacher asked them to gather information about Forests .
  • Do you have some idea about Deforestation?
  • Yes please James.
  • Yes LIly , my father told me about it. Do you want me to tell about it?

  • You see, Deforestation means cutting down the trees to a large extent be it forests, any barren land or trees we see on our way toschool every day.
  • Natural forests are being destructed to use the land for cultivation, building houses, factories, logging,making space for cattle grazing, extraction of oil,
  • mining, construction of dams or to obtain wood for making furnitureand using it as fuel.

  • droughts, and storm surges destroymillions of hectares of forest every year - and their intensity is only increasing with globalwarming.
