- We shall give this baby to our servant to kill it so this never happened to us.
- After this Jocasta and Laius gave their baby to the servant to kill the baby on top of Mt. Cithaeron. Little did they know that the baby didn't actually die.
- Someone in this bloodline shall marry there mother and kill their father.
- Alright
- After running away from his kingdom hearing about the prophecy he gets into a fight at a crossroad. When doing this he kills King Laius which is his real father.
- 20 years later
- Man: as an infant, he crawls on all fours; as an adult, he walks on two legs and; in old age, he uses a walking stick.
- Since Oedipus gets this right the Sphinx throws herself off to her death. Also answering this right he becomes king of the city since King Laius is dead.
- What being has four legs, then two, and then three?
- He enters the City of Thebes to be stopped by a sphinx.
- 20 years later a plague hits the crops because the killer of King Laius is still in the city. Oedipus was on a mission to find the killer and get rid of them.
- Oedipus do you really think someone else killed the king? You're the one who did it.
- Right after the conversation Oedipus finds out that his dad died but wasn't his real dad.
- How could you accuse me of this. I didn't even know who the king was.
- I'm the one who got you from Jocasta when you were a baby. I also saw you kill King Laius.
- Jocasta had begged Oedipus not to ask questions because she had just figured out the truth. While they were talking Jocasta had killed herself.
- You're telling me I fulfilled the prophecy of marrying my mother and killing my father,
- I'm the one who gave you to your adoptive parents.
- Oedipus then asked Creon to bring him to Mt. Cithaeron where he will later die.
- I have blinded myself because I have been blind this whole time.
