  • All Good!!!
  • Cala my full-time nurse,would take my blood pressure and filling out my daily log.
  • Apocalypse, she says eyes dancing.
  • Were playing Phonetic, and I'm winning this time, I say confidently, though I have no chance in winning. 
  • For the thousandth time I realize anew how hard my disease is hard on her. It's the only world I known, but before me she had my brother and dad. She traveled and played soccer. She had a normal life that did not include being cloistered in abubble.
  • Hi, I'm Olly what's your name!!!
  • Then I see him. He's tall, lean, and wearing all black: black T-shirt, black jeans, black sneakers, and a black knit cap that covers his hair completely.
  • This Scene is important because Madeline always has to play Pictionary or Phonetic with her mom. Madeline knows that she will never beat her mom. Madeline's mom saysthat she never understood the game because the game is all about persuasion. Playing games with her mom can sometimes become boring to Madeline, but her mom is the only person she knows because she can't go outside. Page 9, 11 12
  • This scene is Madeline thinking about what her mom's life would be like if she didn't exist. She feels that she is a burden on her mom because all her mom did was travel, but now she is in a buddle for fourteen hours a day with her sick teenage daughter. Sometimes Madeline sits and thinks about her life and how it can be better. She always wondered what opportunitiesshe would have if she wasn't sick. Page 30
  • This is the day Madeline meets her new friend Olly. Madeline will gradually start having a crush onOlly butwill not know how to express her feelings to him. She imagines him wherever she goes. Madeline has never talked or liked a boy. Page 20
  • This scene is showing how there are people outside having fun, but Madeline cannotgo out and play because of her condition. Madeline always wanted to socialize with the outside world, but her mom would never let her. This caused Madeline to think about her life, and what will her life be like if she didn't have the condition.
