Storyboard Text

  • Lennie was in the barn with Curley's wife and made a mistake, While Curley's wife starts to make a commotion Lennie panics and covers her up from making too much noise in result of accidentally killing her.For revenge Curley takes himself and a few of the guy workers on horses to go hunt down Lennie and kill him. Lennie is hiding down in the Salinas riverbank. While this unfolds George takes it upon himself to take Carlson's pistol and find Lennie before anyone else does.
  • While Lennie hides in the riverbank he begins to talk to himself about how George is going to be so mad and disappointed in him. From his own stress and panic he hallucinates his own Aunt Clara. He also starts hallucinating a gigantic bunny to start shaming him as well. From theses hallucinations, Lennie starts to feel guilt of his actions and behaviors towards George and others on "Tyler Ranch".
  • Lennie continues to hide. After searching frantically for Lennie, George finally finds him. He instantly tries his best to calm Lennie down to put him in a good, calm, happier mood.George starts simply talking to Lennie but slowly starts to notice Curley and his men showing up but George decides to ignore them and finish his job.
  • George starts once again to distract Lennie. George begins to make Lennie stare off into the river and while they sit together George slowly starts to pull out Carlson's pistol to hold behind Lennie's back. He starts to make Lennie imagine their shared future together. George keeps repeating their dreams and hopes to Lennie because he wants him to be in a happier mindset.
  • After George finally gets Lennie to be in the perfect calm mindset. On the spot George pulls the trigger of Carlson's pistol and shoots Lennie right in the back of the head. On impact Lennie dies instantly and falls down to the ground. George puts the gun down and leaves Lennie laying there lifeless.
  • After George walks away from the scene he notices that Curley and the whole crew witnessed it. He leaves no explanation for anyone because he knew he did the right thing to better his own future and Lennie's too. George feels sad that the solution had to end in Lennie dead but knows in the long run it is for the better. He goes to end his day with drinking with all the other workers.
