Welcome to the New England Colonies! As you can see we are very developed. Over there is the meetinghouse where everyone in the town meets to worship and discuss government issues. The entrie town is built around it!
Education is very important, as you can tell by all the schools around here. Our education is based on the bible, as is our community life. We make sure to observe the sabbath day and keep family faith strong.
Artisans are very important here as they make products such as ropes, barrels, and sails, which are very important for trade
Our government works very well due to our democratic approach, we elect our government officals, and we vote on issues .
Well, we tried the farming approach but it didn't work out due to our uneven lands and cold climate, so instead we turned to our geography for buisness. We use our large forests to gather and sell lumber. We also use the ocean for fishing and whaling.
You elect your officals? Such a strange way of running a community
They don't have farms???
This place is very strange... Where are all the farms? How do you do buisness around here, you have nothing to trade or sell?
Welcome to the southern colonies! Made up of Virginia, Georgia, the Carolinas, and Maryland. Unlinke the north, you'll find plantations everywhere due to our warm climaate, flat land, and soil that is great for farming.
Eucation is not the biggest concern around here, and only the wealthiest have the opportunity to meet with a tutor. The lower classes were often trained to work on a farm and in a field from a young age.
These plantations are the foundation of our economy, its where we grow and sell all of our cash crops, such as tobacco and rice. We also use slaves for trade and labour. Charleston is considered the trading hub due to it being the largest city in the south.
Since the area is so rural, there are not many churches or meetinghouses, most families spend leisure time with each other in their home.
Most of the colonies are governed by British rulers, but in Virgina we have created the house of Burgess, where men vote on the issues of the town. Wealthy aristocrats run most of the towns, and there are little opporunites for liberty for the poor and the slaves.
How strange, where are all of your schools, or your meeting houses?
No schools!?
Why don't we ask this young woman what region she would want to live in.
No! The south is much better!
I would live in the New England colonies due it being much more developed, and it being focused on education and democracy. I also love the importance of family faith in those colonies.
I agree, the New England colonies are the greatest!
Excuse me madam, which part of the new world would you live in if you could?
