Women of France got so frustrated that they didn't have bread for their families. So they continued to march down to demanded to be noticed from their suffering. The King later promised to give more food to them.

The guillotine was the "engine" of the Reign of Terror. Robespierre was the main leader for the Reign of Terror. The Reign of Terror was the first sight of a republic.
